One of the many costs of pet ownership is the spay or neuter surgery.  Here are some low cost options for spaying or neutering your pet.  All of these groups work hard to ensure that pet ownership is affordable to everyone.

Connecticut Humane Society’s Fox Clinic Low Cost Spay/Neuter program

All pets must undergo a pre-surgical examination that costs $29

Cost for cats is $70 for males, $105 for females.

Dogs can cost from $115 to $275 for males and $120 to $410 for females, depending on size and age.

**There are increased costs for animals with conditions such as being overweight, cryptorchid, pregnant, or in heat.**

Nutmeg Spay/Neuter Clinic

Nutmeg has a special Feral Cat Program that will loan you a humane trap to catch a feral cat, and will only charge $50 to alter the cat and provide basic vaccines.

Cost for friendly/tame cats is $85 for females and $80 for males.

Nutmeg has a special low rate for Pits and Pit mixes.  Full bred Pit Bulls are $95 and mixes are $125 to $175.

Cost for non pit bull dogs is $200 to $350 for females and $175 to $325 for males.

New Hope Clinic has a special Feral Cat Program that charges $60 to alter the cat and provide basic vaccinations.

Cost for friendly/tame cats is $100.  You do not need an appointment for friendly male cats, please go to the website to find out more.

New Hope Clinic has a special low rate for Pits and Pit Mixes.  Full bred Pit Bulls cost $100 to $200 depending on size and sex.  Pit Mixes cost $125 to $250 depending on size.

Cost for non pit bull dogs is $150 to $300.

TEAM Mobile Feline Unit travels around the state providing spay and neuter surgeries to all CT cats. The cost is $80 and includes basic vaccinations.  They will also provide vaccinations at low fees to cats that are too young for surgery or that have already been altered.
