Dog-Friendly Breweries in Connecticut
Where to bring your leashed pup for an afternoon out near Cheshire and around the state, with every dog policy checked on the brewery’s own website.

Quick answer
Plenty of Connecticut breweries welcome leashed dogs, but almost always outside only. Close to home, Counter Weight in Cheshire, Center Street in Wallingford, Armada in New Haven and NEBCO in Woodbridge and Branford all allow dogs outdoors, and Witchdoctor in Southington welcomes well-behaved, leashed dogs. Farther out, Urban Lodge in Manchester is one of the few that lets leashed dogs inside. We checked every policy below on the brewery’s own website. Policies change, so call ahead.
Heading out for an afternoon with your dog? Here are dog-friendly breweries in central and south-central Connecticut, starting near our home base in Cheshire, then a few worth the drive elsewhere in the state. For each one, we list exactly what the brewery says about dogs: patio, outdoor area or indoors.
Good to know: most breweries keep non-service dogs out of indoor spaces, especially where food is served, and outdoor areas may close in bad weather or for private events. Policies change, so check the brewery’s website or call before you go. Guests must be 21+ to drink, and many breweries welcome families too.

Good manners
Brewery etiquette for dogs
- Keep the leash short. Every brewery on this list requires a leash. A standard 6-foot leash works better than a retractable one in a crowd.
- Bring water and a bowl. Some breweries put out water bowls, but not all do.
- Never share your drink. Beer, and hops in particular, are dangerous for dogs.
- Watch for stress. Loud music, crowds and other dogs can be a lot. If your dog seems uneasy, it’s time to head home.
- Clean up and respect the rules. Staff can ask you to leave if a dog causes problems, and good manners keep these places dog-friendly for everyone.
