All cancellations are REQUIRED to be submitted via Log in to the Sarah’s Pet Sitting secure online system. After you log in, select the appropriate dates on the home screen, and press, “cancel” on the services needing cancellation. You will be emailed a confirmation of your cancellation.
For any visit canceled with less that a full 12 hours notice from the start of the visit time window, payment is required in full.
For any visit cancelled with less than a complete 48 hours notice from the start of the visit time window a $5 per visit, cancellation fee will apply.
On week days that Cheshire Public Schools are closed due to bad weather, cancellation fees will be waived when the cancellation is submitted via login AT LEAST 6 hours prior to the scheduled time window. Overnight, Weekend, & Holiday Service cancellation fee waiver will be in the event of extreme weather only and at the discretion of SPS management. In the event of extreme weather, Overnight, Weekend, & Holiday service cancellations must be received via login 12 hours prior to the start of the visit time window to be eligible for a cancellation fee waiver.
HOLIDAY & OVERNIGHT CANCELLATION POLICY
An AUTOMATIC 25% cancellation fee applies to ALL Overnight Services and ALL services booked on and around major holidays, and all Cheshire Public School Holidays & general vacation times. Those with recurring schedules must cancel 30 days in advance for waiver of the 25% holiday cancellation fee. Please see below for exact holiday dates that require the 25% cancellation fee.
For all holiday week & school vacation week services canceled with less then 48 hours notice, payment is required in full.
For any overnight canceled with less than 48 hours notice, payment is required in full.
The automatic 25% cancellation fee applies to all overnight services:
Additional $10 added to each visit on holidays.
Additional $25 added to each overnight visit on holidays
*Holidays that incur our additional $10 charge per visit are at the sole discretion of Sarah’s Pet Sitting. At times we may charge holiday rates on the days leading up to and after the holiday. This additional charge is used to pay our team and ensure we have the availability to offer our services 365 days per year.
Why is the Cancellation Policy Important for Clients & Staff of SPS?
At Sarah’s Pet Sitting it very important that we take great care of our clients and also our valuable employee pet sitters. The cancellation policies ensure fairness to all involved.
We absolutely hate to turn away any of our excellent clients because we are fully booked, but from time to time this does occur. The cancellation polices helps to keep space available in our schedule for those who really need it, because we are only booking services with those that are certain they need us and know that cancellation policies apply should they need to cancel. I would hate to turn away a client because we are full, only to have someone cancel on short notice whose space I could of given to someone who really needed it. This occurs often around holidays & school vacation weeks, our schedule fills up, then many clients wait until the last moment to cancel, which makes it impossible for us to services the clients we had turned away.
In addition to this, our excellent employee Pet Sitters set aside time in their busy schedules to service our clients. We believe that our sitters deserve to be paid when their work is cancelled on short notice. Imagine a job were the work you depended on could be cancelled at any moment with no pay. The cancellation of one or two visits does not seem like a big deal but just imagine that times several clients all cancelling a few visits during the same week. We want to keep all of our top-notch pet sitters employed with Sarah’s Pet Sitting for a very long time so we choose to pay them for services on their schedule that are cancelled on short notice.
